Hollywood Beach Clean Up Postponed Due To Pending Weather

The Hollywood Beach Clean-up, organized by the City of Hollywood in partnership with Broward County’s Keep Hollywood Beautiful, has been rescheduled from Saturday, July 13th to Saturday, July 20th due to the pending weather.

Join the City of Hollywood in keeping Hollywood’s beach clean! Groups are welcome to join us! Volunteers are needed to collect litter along the beach. Before the beach clean-up, Keep Broward Beautiful will provide safety tips and beach clean-up procedures. These clean-ups are organized by the Department of Public Works. In addition to the July 20th clean-up, there is an event in August, September, October, November and December.

Each cleanup is from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) and 100 volunteers are needed and must be at least 8 years of age to participate.

Beach Parking Alternatives

The Maurice Connell Parking Garage at Johnson Street on Hollywood Beach will close on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 12:01 a.m. to make way for the new Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort. The City of Hollywood Office of Parking and the Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency have compiled a map of parking garages and lots as well as transportation alternatives such as the Hollywood Trolley and the Water Taxi.

Demolition of the garage is slated for this summer with construction of the new resort to begin immediately thereafter.
